Two neighbors stepping up for Beverly Hills schools

On November 3, Beverly Hills voters will choose who leads our school district. It may be the most important local decision on this year's ballot. Jackie Kruger and Kimberly Lifschitz are running to put the focus back on students.

You don't need a child in BHUSD to have a stake in this race. For generations, our public schools were one of the city's greatest assets: a point of pride, a draw for families and a pillar of our home values. Today that standing is at risk.

A board that has lost its way

The current board has moved away from the democratic values our schools should model. It has failed to protect students of every religion and race. It has ignored its own bylaws and limited residents' right to speak at public meetings.

The results show. Academic standards have slipped, Black students have left the district, and book banning is now on the table. The board has also refused to settle lawsuits despite offers to resolve them. That has cost taxpayers money and damaged the city's reputation, all to defend board members' personal opinions instead of the rule of law.

Why Jackie and Kimberly are running

Jackie and Kimberly both have deep roots in Beverly Hills. They couldn't keep watching from the sidelines while the

, so they entered the race.

Their priorities are clear:

  • Students first. Every decision is judged by what it does for students.

  • Academic excellence. Raise standards back to where Beverly Hills belongs.

  • Respect for every family. A district that protects all students, whatever their faith or background.

  • Open, accountable governance. Follow the bylaws and welcome the community's voice at meetings.

  • Responsible use of public money. Resolve disputes instead of spending tax dollars on drawn-out lawsuits.

Grace under pressure

This campaign has seen online misinformation and personal attacks aimed at the candidates and their families. Jackie and Kimberly have answered with grace and stayed focused on the issues. That's the temperament we need on the board.

Vote November 3

This race will shape our schools, and our city, for years to come. Vote for Jackie Kruger and Kimberly Lifschitz on November 3, and help bring back a school system Beverly Hills can be proud of.
